Why Did You Start Your Business?
I realized I liked working for myself and disliked being told what to draw (was drawing for a company before this), so I took the plunge to try freelancing and it has been working out well so far.
What Has Been The Toughest Part About Being In Business For Yourself?
The toughest part is wrangling enough business each month. My style is quite niche so finding clients is tough from time to time.
What Was Your Dream Job As A Kid And Why?
I really wanted to make games as a kid, because those are what inspired me the most to draw. I figured if I made games, those games would inspire others the way they did for me.
What’s Your Greatest Professional Achievement?
So far it's this, just being on my own and freelancing. Some months can be taxing, or easy breezy, but I wouldn't trade it back for a desk job any time soon.
What Woman Inspires You And Why?
I look up to Maya Angelou quite often, as her poetry helps fuel me from time to time.
What Will Be The Biggest Challenge For The Generation Of Black Women Behind You?
Finding your voice, definitely.
