What Services / Products Does Your Business Provide?

I help women feel confident in their skin and at peace with their body at any size, shape, or stage of life. My specialized approach to holistic wellness and self-care  teaches women to release external standards of worth by strengthening internal connection with their body and fortifying love for themselves. My individual and group coaching programs provide women the opportunity to address their body relationship challenges by exploring mindfulness techniques and behavior modifications that will empower them to be at peace in their own skin and live the lives they desire. I also create safe, affirming spaces for women to heal their  body relationships and connect with others through workshops and sister circle events.

What Values Define Your Business?

I value authenticity in everything I do personally and professionally and I seek to create spaces where clients can feel safe to be authentic as well. The work that I do is also centered on body peace, self-care, and holistic wellness. I believe that every woman has the right to feel at peace in her own body at any size, shape, or stage of life.  Self-care and holistic wellness are the primary tools that I use to help women on their journey to body peace.

How Long Have You Been In Business?

Five years.

What Has Been The Toughest Part About Being In Business For Yourself?

The most challenging things have been prioritizing my own well-being while managing a business alone and staying motivated to pursue my goals when things get challenging.

What Was Your Dream Job As A Kid And Why?

My dream job as a child was to be a teacher, which I actually accomplished before becoming an entrepreneur.

What’s Your Greatest Professional Achievement?

I believe my greatest professional achievement has been not losing connection to my own lived experience.  It is interwoven into everything that I do and it still remains the force behind all of my accomplishments.  Remembering my own challenges with body-image and self-esteem enables me to continually create services that meet the real needs of women.

What Woman Inspires You And Why?

I definitely have to say Oprah, because in those hard times when entrepreneurship is really challenging, I listen to her podcast, or look at her show and it inspires me to keep going.  She is the epitome of pushing past rejection, poverty, and failures by staying focused on the things that your heart tells you to do. I am also inspired by the entrepreneurial women in my life who are my close friends. They share candidly with me about their challenges and successes.  Seeing so many of my friends build brands from nothing and create lucrative businesses reminds me daily that it IS possible to create the life you desire.

What Will Be The Biggest Challenge For The Generation Of Black Women Behind You?

I feel that the biggest challenge for the generation of Black women behind me will be valuing and maintaining sisterhood and authentic connections.  With the convenience of social media and technology, it is easy to forget how imperative it is to have authentic connections with other Black women.  We need to see, hear, and touch each other.  There is healing in gathering together.  I pray that the generation behind us doesn't neglect the importance of true connection.
